Staircases

Stairs are elements of flights connected by landings, forming a walkway system across several or more floors. Thanks to a wide range of solutions, it is possible to construct a versatile walkway system, including hybrid designs that combine various types of industrial stairs. Such systems consist of the following elements:

  • Straight stairs,
  • Spiral staircases,
  • Winder stairs.

Optimum corrosion protection enables the production of steel stairs that meet customer-specific requirements.

Usage

Staircases are a popular form of passageway design in industrial facilities. Like straight stairs, they are typically used in facilities such as:

  • Production halls
  • Logistics halls
  • Machinery parks factories
  • Warehouses
  • Cold storage facilities
  • Sorting plants and waste incineration plants
  • Public areas

In addition, stairs can be used to access the storage containers. The assembly of the supporting structure, steps, railings and platforms is carried out by screw connections with support brackets, or a self-supporting structure is prepared, which usually rests on pillars.

  • High quality materials
Proper quality throughout the production process is ensured by metal construction materials brought from leading suppliers.
  • Numerous options
You can choose from many staircase encapsulation options using profiled sheet or sandwich panels. Additionally, the bottom of the staircase can be secured with a fixed fencing option – transparent fence panels equipped with a key-lockable entrance.
  • Safety first
Ensure safety and customize the staircase construction with the types of steps and balustrades that can be found in our offerings.

Standards for steel staircases

Steel staircases manufactured by TLC Group are produced in accordance with both Polish and international standards. In Poland, the Minister of Infrastructure Regulation specifies the technical conditions that buildings and their locations must meet. For industrial access stairs, the PN ISO 14122 standard applies. Reliability and safety are among the primary design criteria for staircase structures.
The relevant standards include:

  • PN-EN_1990_2004: Basis of Structural Design
  • PN-EN-1991-1-2 (2006): Actions on Structures – Actions on Structures in Fire Conditions
  • PN-EN-1993-1-2 (2007): Design of Steel Structures – Design for Fire Conditions
  • PN-EN 1992 Eurocode 2: Design of Concrete Structures
  • EOTA – 11/0014 – Sika Unitherm Platinum
  • ECCS N89 – Euro Nomogram – Fire Resistance of Steel Structures
  • Access Steel – Guidelines for Designing Steel Structures

FAQ

Yes. The positioning of the staircase depends on the design conditions and on whether it can be anchored to the existing structure. If the facility allows anchoring, the staircase can be fixed to it. In other cases, a self-supporting structure can be designed.

In order to prepare an offer, it is necessary to complete the commercial form and provide the basic technical information concerning the facility, including, among others, the location, standard requirements, expected loads, method of support and the expected scope of the solution. The lead time depends on the complexity of the project, the scope of the structure and the technical conditions of the project.

Yes. The system components are protected by hot-dip galvanizing, which provides durable and damage-resistant corrosion protection, also in demanding environmental conditions. In areas with increased corrosivity, appropriate technological solutions are applied, such as all-round welds. These ensure the tightness of connections, eliminating areas susceptible to the penetration of moisture, salt or aggressive chemical substances. In addition, they support the correct hot-dip galvanizing process by enabling even coating of the surface and increasing the durability of the protection.

The cost of steel staircases depends on several factors, including the size of the structure, the type of steel used, additional components, and the installation location. The selection of elements such as step infill and guardrail type also has a significant impact on the final cost. Using standard TLC solutions helps optimise the project budget and reduce lead time. Our offering department can quickly provide a detailed quote tailored to your project

Yes. TLC prepares the structure for transport and selects the optimal delivery method for the project requirements. During the design process, TLC designers divide the shipping elements in a way that makes the best possible use of the loading space. Depending on the location and the scope of the project, delivery by road, sea or air is possible.
